What is a stock brokerage firm?

A stock brokerage firm is a legal entity authorized by the Bolsa Nacional de Valores, S.A. (Costa Rica’s National Stock Exchange) in accordance with the requisites established by the Stock Market Regulation Law, No. 7732, published in the official Gazette No. 18 of January 27, 1998, so that it can perform the activities authorized in this Law. It is essential that the operations carried out in the stock exchange be proposed, perfected, and implemented by a stock brokerage firm.

Our stock brokerage firm

Inversiones Sama, S. A. –Puesto de Bolsa– (Stock Brokerage Firm) was created in 1977. It was a founding member of the Bolsa Nacional de Valores, S.A., and one of the brokerage firms that participated in the first Costa Rican stock market operation.

Inversiones Sama, S.A. –Puesto de Bolsa– provides all the services offered by a stock broker; its activities are regulated and supervised both by the General Superintendence of Securities (SUGEVAL) and the National Stock Exchange (Bolsa Nacional de Valores, S.A.).

The services provided by our brokerage firm include:

Purchase and sale of securities
Custody of securities
Portfolio advice and management
Advice on the structuring of financing operations through issuance in the stock exchange

Inversiones Sama, S.A. –Puesto de Bolsa– was authorized to provide Custody services on January 10, 2007, pursuant to Resolution SGV-R-1593 of the General Superintendence of Securities.
